These are designed, executed and road-tested by a street-shooting photographer in Chicago who refuses to have a tidbit of freeze on her frame.

Added bonus: This is a great pattern to learn knitting in the round!

Size:
S [M, L]

Gauge:
20 sts/28 rows = 4 inches (10cm) in Stockinette stitch

Materials:
any DK worsted weight yarn [wool recommended]; 130 [140, 150] yds

1 set US #5/3.75mm double-point or circular needles

 

Voodoo Wrist Warmers

NOTE: reference Double Circular Method and Using Double Pointed Needles if this is your first time knitting in the round.

CO 40 (44, 48) sts using the long tail cast-on method and set of double point needles or circulars.

Divide stitches evenly among needles.

Join and work in k2, p2 rib for 7 [7.5, 8] inches.

At the beginning of the round, *K2, P2* three times, then make a 6-stitch buttonhole.

Finish round in pattern.

Work one more inch in 2X2 rib [k2, p2].

BO all stitches.

Weave in ends.
